Description

A reference center covering all R&D&I aspects of the battery ecosystem in Southern Europe, including research, development, and innovation across the entire value chain of next generation electric cells and batteries for electric mobility markets, renewable energies, and industrial goods.

• Materials and Cells R&D

‒ Li-ion, Na-ion, Li-S batteries, solidstate batteries, redox flow batteries, supercapacitors, and hybrid systems.

‒ Synthesis-structure-properties correlation of (nano)electrodes.

‒ Ionic liquid cell electrolytes.

‒ Polymeric electrolyte membranes.

 

• Development of Battery Modules and Packs

‒ Multimaterial and lightweight materials (composites, AHSS).

‒ Battery Management Systems (BMS).

‒ Design of power converters and controls.

‒ Hybridization of energy systems

 

• Testing and Characterization of Battery Cells, Modules, and Packs.

‒ Benchmarking.

‒ Safety control, accelerated aging, and validation of battery cells (standard or custom).
