Social Innovation for Improving Health and Wellbeing

IREC is leading a project that transforms communities through social innovation. With a focus on improving health and well-being, this initiative combats energy poverty and promotes environmental sustainability.

The project addresses issues related to energy poverty, a situation that directly impacts people’s health and well-being. By providing tools and knowledge to reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency, it improves the living conditions of Mediterranean communities. The goal is to create more resilient and healthier communities, with a special focus on vulnerable groups.

Social Innovation for Sustainability

One of the keys to the project’s success is its ability to combine technological innovation with social innovation. By implementing practical solutions, such as installing energy efficiency technologies in homes and training in sustainable practices, it ensures active community participation in decision-making, guaranteeing that the solutions adopted meet their specific needs.

Collaboration and Community Participation

This project stands out for its collaborative approach, working closely with local organizations, governments, and other entities to implement its actions. This collaboration creates a support network that facilitates the implementation of effective and sustainable solutions. The workshops and training sessions organized have proven to be effective tools for educating and engaging communities in their own energy transition.

International Recognition

This project has been recognized with the 2023 European Social Innovation Award, highlighting its excellence and positive impact on society. This award celebrates the project’s achievements and inspires other initiatives to follow a similar path of social innovation to tackle energy and environmental challenges.
