<\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=\u00bb1\/2″][vc_column_text]The year 2023 has been marked by significant advancements and notable achievements in the field of energy research and innovation. As the director, it is an honor to present to you our 2023 Annual Report, which highlights the efforts and milestones that have enabled us to continue leading the energy transition and the fight against climate change.<\/p>\nThis year, we have intensified our research with pioneering investigations such as the development of catalysts, international recognition of our work on green hydrogen and decarbonization. We have also made great strides in advanced battery technologies and in the development of cobalt-free battery prototypes for electric mobility, as well as new technologies to achieve much higher energy densities.<\/p>\n
Additionally, we are driving initiatives in floating offshore wind energy and in the integration of digital systems for smart energy management, ensuring our position as a reference in these areas. Moreover, this year, the project to create a Test and Demonstration Platform for the energy transition in Gurb has been consolidated with the allocation of spaces to the institute.<\/p>\n
Our concern for the social impact of the energy transition is constant. This dedication, among other aspects, has been reflected this year in projects aimed at improving energy efficiency and promoting positive energy communities. We have worked on outstanding projects, including winning the European Social Innovation Award, and have held notable events promoting public dissemination and citizen participation in energy issues.<\/p>\n
Regarding people and talent, we celebrate the achievements of our team with the awarding of Ramon y Cajal grants, programs, and awards, that reflect IREC\u2019s commitment to the excellence of our researchers.<\/p>\n
In summary, we invite you to explore this report, where you will find examples of our research lines, our areas of expertise, collaborations, and achievements. IREC continues to be a reference in energy research thanks to the joint work of our researchers, technicians, and support staff.<\/p>\n
